Sarah Shahi was born Aahoo Jahansouzshahi, in Euless, Texas, to an Iranian father and a Spanish-Iranian mom. She was an ex- NFL Cheerleader and is a descendant of a 19th-century Persian Shah. She was a student at Trinity High School and Southern Methodist University and where she studied opera, and later majored in English.
